Advantis Credit Union Doubles its Annual Grow Campaign Amid COVID-19

In an effort to respond to the ongoing, far-reaching community impacts of COVID-19, Advantis Credit Union, based in Milwaukie, Oregon, is awarding $100,000 to five local nonprofit organizations through its annual giveback campaign, Grow: The Advantis Community Fund.
“We recognize immediate funding is critical to local nonprofits — especially those providing essential services like food, utility assistance, and medical care,” said Bob Corwin, Advantis President and CEO. “We doubled our donations through Grow to $100,000 and are awarding grants directly to five nonprofits we recognize are providing vital services during this pandemic.”
Advantis researched the incredible need in the area and granted each of the following groups a $20,000 donation to bolster their immediate response efforts. The credit union will also match employee donations of up to $100 made to any nonprofit organization of their choosing.
Sunshine Division
Since 1922, the Sunshine Division has provided food and clothing relief to struggling local families, students, and individuals. Advantis’ grant will help fund, support, and extend the organization’s distribution of emergency food boxes.
Store to Door
Store to Door supports independent living for Portland-area seniors and people with disabilities. The grant will help maintain existing services and expand the organization’s reach to deliver food and groceries to particularly vulnerable populations in the Portland area.
Outside In
Since 1968, Outside In has helped break the cycles of chronic homelessness, poverty, and poor health among Portland’s LGBTQIA+ community, people of color, those experiencing homelessness, and the underserved. The $20,000 grant will help fund increased pandemic-related clinic and mental health programs, including mobile medical outreach, health insurance enrollment, and meal delivery.
Human Solutions Inc.
Human Solutions has been helping homeless and low-incomefamilies build pathways out of poverty for over three decades, offering affordable housing; employment and economic development programs; direct services to homeless families; and rent and utility assistance programs. Advantis’ donation will provide funding relief to address the demand for utility and rent assistance during this difficult time.
Impact NW
Impact Northwest works with thousands of individuals and families in danger of losing their housing and connects them with resources to help them transition out of poverty and into self-sufficiency. The grant will help meet increased demand for Energy Assistance Program services and rent assistance.
