Five local area credit unions and the GoWest Foundation have launched the Tucson Welcome Home program which offers zero-down-payment assistance and supports individuals and families looking to transition from renting to owning their own homes. This means 100% financing for eligible borrowers in Pima County.
To qualify, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Be a first-time homebuyer
- Be employed or have a consistent income source for at least the past two years
- The purchase property must be located in Pima County
- The property must be a single-family home, townhome, or a detached or attached 1-unit residence
- The total, yearly household income must be at or 140% area median income (AMI) – find AMIs here
Tucson Welcome Home is a loan program created to expand home financing options for families at or below 140% of the median household income level. This program can provide an avenue to overcome affordability, down payment and credit qualification challenges and enable families to escape the cycle of renting and build wealth.
